Critical
Incident Stress Management
The
incidence and impact of critical incidents occurring
in the workplace today is receiving growing national
attention. We have all heard stories of violence, homicide, assaults and
armed robbery happening at the work site.
Critical incidents are not just limited to violent situations.
Unforeseen or startling events that have a strong affect
on employees, such as layoffs, accidents or employee
deaths, are also considered critical incidents. These
episodes can leave individuals and entire organizations
shaken and sometimes immobilized. Productivity is reduced,
morale is threatened, and health care and Workers’ Compensation
costs often increase. The effects of critical incidents
can have serious financial and legal implications as
well.
The Lexington Group is prepared to respond immediately at the request of a designated
manager. Our Vice President of Clinical Services will
personally direct all such requests. The scope of our
critical incident management services include:
¨ Immediate on site needs assessment.
¨
Group debriefing sessions by certified trauma specialists.
¨
Individual short-term intervention counseling.
¨
Assessment and referrals for continued therapy.
¨
Return to work evaluations.
